Birthday Invitation

Noelle made the cutest birthday invitation for me after she took some adorable photos. I think it turned out so great. Thanks Noelle.

Birthday/State Fair

We missed the fair last year cause I had just had Anastyn so we thought no better night to go but Anastyn's 1st birthday! We had a great time. We rushed through most of the fair so we could go to the "America" concert (Gordon's wishes), we lasted 2 songs before the girls were a little too crazy. After the concert we went on a few rides, went to McDonald's for dinner then went home.

Taeya's favorite part of the fair was getting her face painted.

Anastyn, the birthday girl, with her daddy watching Taeya get her face painted.

The finished product - doesn't she look cute.

We thought Anastyn was a little young to ride the pony, but Taeya loved it of course.

The animals are always exciting, our favorite was the baby piggies - the picture turned out blurry though.

The whole fam waiting for the concert to start. I'm pretty sure our girls were the youngest at the concert.

Before the concert started Anastyn was walking all over the place and people were constantly commenting on how cute she was - I had to agree of course!!

After the concert we went on the Ferris Wheel - a must at the fair.

Anastyn loved it just as much as Taeya this time. She just laughed as we went around and around.

Dinner at McDonald's afterwards, we asked Taeya what her favorite thing was at the fair and she said "getting my face painted." Gordon asked her how she liked her first concert and she said "it was kinda boring!"

In summary we had a great, busy birthday!

4 Babes Birthday Party

Our babies aren't babies anymore, they are all 1 year olds! I can't believe how fast the year flew by. We thought it would be fun to have a birthday party for all 4 babies together. We figured it would be a good time to have the party on Anastyn's birthday and, let's be honest, it's really just an excuse for us to get together for lunch!! We decided not to do presents because the babies don't know the difference and they are all spoiled with toys as it is. So just yummy nachos for lunch and cupcakes. We had a great time.

Such cute babies - McCoy, Bryce, Alayna, and Anastyn

I think this picture is a preview of what's to come!

Fire Station Field Trip

Taeya had a field trip to the Fire Station again this year. Last year Gordon went with her since I was in the hospital after having Anastyn. This year I got to go. It was fun to watch Taeya hang on to every word the Fireman said. She learned all about the fire truck, what equipment is on the truck, fire safety and what to do in an emergency.

Taeya and Ashlynn are becoming great little friends. They both really enjoyed the field trip. After learning about the fire truck they learned how to draw a fire truck, watched a movie on fire safety and played in the park. They had a fun day at "school."

Good Morning Birthday Girl

Good morning sunshine! This is Anastyn first thing in the morning on her 1st birthday. Her hair is so crazy, I had to post 2 pictures just so I could remember how she looks in the morning. Her hair is always so matted in the back after she has been sleeping, it drives me crazy. We had a great/busy birthday. There are many more "birthday" posts to follow.

12 Month Checkup

Anastyn had her 12 month check up on September 14th (a day shy of her birthday).

Here are her stats:
28 1/2 inches (25th %)
19 lbs 1 oz (25th %)
47 cm (head cm - 90th %)

Here are some things about Anastyn:
She has 4 teeth on bottom, 4 on top plus 1 molar is totally in and the other side is just pocking through.
She says ma (more and mom), daw (dog), baw (ball), and ba (book).
She loves to read books and turns the pages when she is ready, if she doesn't want you to read the book she will close it and push it onto the floor.
She signs more, all done, eat, milk and please.
She loves to swing and gets mad when I take her out.
She loves to eat crayons (thank goodness they are non-toxic).
She loves her binki.
No more nursing (as of today).
She loves watching "Baby Signing Times."
She will give hugs if you ask for them.
She is starting to point to what she wants.
She loves toothbrushes.
She is still a monkey and loves to climb on things, especially the couch.
She loves sitting on Taeya's bed.
She can get herself off the couch and the bed.
She likes to go down stairs, she will "turn around" if we ask her but she prefers to go forward. She slides her bum to the end of the stair and lowers herself down.

She is so much fun and we all love her so much.

New Pictures

I got some pictures taken of the girls last week. They turned out great. Anastyn was really sad through most of the session, thank goodness I found a book in the diaper bag and that seemed to help. Taeya was quite the poser. I just wished she used her "real" smile. Thanks Noelle.

How do they do it?

Brielle and Taeya have always loved playing in the crib. Now that they are getting bigger I don't really like them playing in there, I'm always afraid they will break it or something. Lawni and I were chatting in the kitchen and went looking for the kids and this is how we found them. How in the world do they get those babies in there? What's even crazier is a few days later Taeya got Anastyn out of the crib. What a mystery.

1st Day of School

Taeya was so excited for her first day of school. Tuesday night as I was telling her she needed to go to sleep, she said "when will it be tomorrow so I can go to school?" I woke her up Wednesday morning and she got up happily. She ate all of her bacon and Mickey Mouse pancake and let me do her hair the first time I asked! We had a good morning.

She is going to the same school she went to last year, "funshine." She has school Monday, Wednesday and Friday's from 9:30 - 12:00.

(She really wanted to wear this great jacket and so I let her, I didn't want to fight her, besides, she is so darn cute anyways!!)

Her teachers names are Miss Sariah

and Miss Rachel. We are really looking forward to a great year, I am so excited for how much she is going to learn this year. It is fun to see her go to school and enjoy it so much, even if it means she is getting older.:(

Mud

I have been realizing this summer that mud is magnetic. Taeya is always turning on the hose in the dirt and thus creating mud. We were enjoying the slide one last time this summer and of course mud was created and Anastyn found it! She loved it......til I made her come inside.

Labor Day

We had a great labor day weekend. We had a few invitations to go out of town but decided to stay and get some things done. Friday night we tried to go see Toy Story but it was sold out, so we went and got ice cream instead. Saturday we cleaned up the basement, went through a file cabinent I have been meaning to go through for 5 years (literally), Gord worked on the boat and I went and found Taeya a new school outfit. Sunday was church then we had my parents over for a salmon and french fries dinner. Monday I went for a jog, went to swim lessons, ran a few errands, finished weeding the yard, went to liberty land and finished the weekend off by eating dinner at Los Hermanos.

Right before we left for liberty land I thought I would try round brushing Anastyn's hair, I think it looks so cute, but makes her look so old!

We bought "The Pass of All Passes" so we thought we would try out liberty land. It was a little run down, but we still had fun. Anastyn liked the bumper cars that we had to push around ourselves.

Both girls loved the Merry-Go-Round.

Taeya really had fun on the climbing wall, she was a good little climber!

Messes

Every day I ask myself why I can't keep the house clean. I figured out the reason, her name is Anastyn! She undoes everything I do! At least she seems to have fun doing it.....

Out For a Sunday Drive

Last Sunday Gordon and I suggested a walk but Taeya thought a drive sounded better and she really wanted Anastyn to be her passenger. Gordon rigged a seat belt with some rope and away we went.

Taeya was a careful driver and as long as she didn't stop for too long, Anastyn was very content to be the passenger. It was cute, I sure love my girls.
