New Outfit

I made this outfit for Taeya a few months ago - I am so excited to have some warm weather so she can finally wear it. I think it turned out pretty darn cute, maybe it helps that I have a cute model!

7 Months Old

Anastyn is now 7 months old (April 15th) and she is such a big girl. She has 2 teeth (the first one I discovered March 22 - right after her 6 month birthday, the second one came a few weeks later - she didn't even complain). She sits up really well. She is getting really close to getting on all 4's. She just can't quite get both legs underneath her. She loves ice cream, she kicks and kicks her legs until you give her a bite, she relaxes for about 10 seconds while it melts in her mouth before she starts kicking again. She is sleeping much better now. Most nights I hear her 1 or 2 times fussing for a few minutes before she finds a binki and goes back to sleep, some morning I will feed her around 6 or 7 am but afterwards she will go back to sleep for 3 or 4 hours. She will usually sleep from about 9 pm to 9 or 10 am. She has a yucky little cough right now. I took her to the doctor on Monday and she weighed 15 lbs 15 oz.

Anastyn is still so happy and fun. She loves to play peek a boo, and she laughs every time we sing "the wheels on the bus." She is very content playing with toys on the floor. We sure do love her! I had my own little photo shoot on April 16th - she was a great little model, Alayna even joined in for a few!

Taeya's New Ride

When Taeya was getting potty trained in February of 2009 I made the mistake of putting diapers on her during the night - at least I think it was a mistake with her. A year and a few months later she was still wearing diapers to bed. I think she was just getting lazy and didn't want to get up during the night. About a month ago I started making her wear underwear to bed in the hopes that she would just wake up - turns out she doesn't care if she wets the bed during the night, it was just a lot of work for me! The first night that she woke up to go to the bathroom we bought her a new bike. Each night she was dry Gordon would put one piece of the bike together, 2 weeks later, she finally earned the bike and has been dry ever since!

Taeya on her new bike - April 11, 2010

She was so excited she had to ride over to Livvy's to show her bike off!

So that night Taeya, Brynn and Kira were playing in the front yard. We ran inside for a few minutes and when we came out the girls were gone - she was with Brynn so we weren't too worried. A few minutes later a neighbor drove to our house and told us that Taeya had an accident. Apparently Taeya asked Brynn to take her for a ride on Brynn's bike. They got down the street and Brynn fell (maybe cause Taeya was on the front), when Brynn fell Taeya got her foot caught in the spokes. One of the neighbor kids saw it happened, ran and got his dad and his dad had to cut the spokes to get her foot out. At first she wouldn't even let us touch it and I was a little worried about it, but as the night went on she seemed to be putting a little weight on it.

We finally convinced her to soak it in epsom salt, Brielle wanted to soak her feet too! (Taeya had to wear her coat because it was cold water!)

We now have new rules about the bike: only one rider at a time, and shoes and helmet have to be worn! Thank goodness that we escaped with only a few cuts, bruising and swelling - it could have been a lot worse.

Spring Break

When people asked me what I was doing for spring break I told them we weren't really doing anything since Taeya is only in preschool and we can pretty much do what we want during any other week, but we ended up having a very busy and very fun week.

Monday: Sewing and making soup at Heather's house. Of course we didn't get much sewing done with 5 kids, but our Chicken Noodle Soup was sure good!

Anastyn finding McCoy's binki!

Tuesday: Taeya had swim team at 1:00, afterwards we went to Mariel's and watched "Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeaquel." After the movie Taeya enjoyed dressing up in Asilia's dressups.

Wednesday: Chucke Cheese with Alyson, Heather, Mindi and kids.

(Thanks to Heather I got a few pictures of spring break).

After Chucke Cheese we went to Jump on It with Mariel and her kids. On the way to Jump on It, Taeya said "I don't want to go to Jump On It, I want to go to Mariel's house." I asked her why and she said "Cause I like to change." (Meaning she would rather play dress up than go to jump on it!) After jump on it we went to McDonalds for ice cream.

Thursday: Swim team at 1:00, we stayed after and swam until about 3:00, and then I worked at 5:00pm

Friday: The Zoo with Mariel and her kids. I thought it was going to be nice and warm on Friday but I was wrong, so Taeya and I froze in our flip flops. Thank goodness the Zoo sold hot chocolate!

So, I think it's safe to say we had a fun spring break.

Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend was so fun and relaxing. It was so nice to be able to be home all day long on Sunday and watch conference. On Saturday we had a dinner and an egg hunt with Gordon's family at our house. Elaine puts money in a few of the eggs with the "golden egg" having a $50 bill and other eggs having $5, $10, and $20's. Taeya didn't find any money, but thankfully she didn't really care! (I got a new camera so Gordon was playing with the settings and as usual I took a million pictures!)

Taeya loving all the candy.

The Bunny: Cassidy

After the dinner at our house, Gordon went to Priesthood and I went over to my moms for some more family fun! We missed dinner because the dinner with Gord's family overlapped a little bit. We did get to enjoy some cousin time and some yummy ice cream. This picture is of Daylen, Skyler, and Zach lifting some weights!

Taeya loves dressing up at my moms house - this is one of the many outfits she put on that evening! Thanks to Asilia, this one actually goes together!

Anastyn loves her Nana.

Sunday morning we woke up and discovered the easter bunny found our house!

Taeya really was excited about the bunny leaving all the eggs behind. I hope I haven't runined her for future years, but during the week before Easter she kept finding the things I was going to put in her basket so I told her that I was going to give them to the easter bunny to give to her!?

The girls with their baskets. Taeya got a new swimsuit, Princess and the Frog DVD, Monsters vs Aliens DVD, and Shrek the Third DVD. Anastyn got some sippy cups and binkis.

Cute Anastyn showing us her new book.

Taeya thought it was pretty fun to put on the "hair." Of course Anastyn had to join in too.

This is what Easter morning looked like - Taeya had to go out and get some snow, she is wearing her new swimsuit, but thank goodness she put a little sweater and boots on!

Our little Easter Bunny and her first Easter. What a great weekend!

Green Bee Produce

Through a friends blog I was introduced to a produce company that does box deliveries once a week here in Cedar Hills (check the website for other locations in Utah and Arizona). The company is called "Green Bee Produce", here's the site:

http://greenbeeproduce.com/

The produce comes out of Arizona every week on a truck and has several different drop-offs around the valley, the deadline to order in Cedar Hills is Monday night by midnight. The order is picked up on Saturday between 12:45 and 1:15. They can't always promise organic produce, but they try to get it whenever they can. Basically the concept is to cut out the grocer, making the produce much fresher than found in the stores.

All you Cedar Hills residents - we need to get the word out because if they don't get enough orders they will cancel the pickup locations.

There are few different box sizes available. Last week I ordered the box for a family of 2 and this is what I got all for $12.50:

A head of romaine lettuce
A carton of strawberries
2 mangoes
1 leek
1 head of cabbage
1 head of broccoli
2 lemons
2 different kinds of apples - about 10 total
Celery
2 roma tomatoes

New Hair Cut

I've always been afraid that Taeya would cut her hair so I have talk to her and tell her that Me and Nana are the only ones who cut hair but I guess all my talking did no good! On Monday, March 22nd, Brielle and Taeya were playing at my house. They were out on the deck playing on the steps, I couldn't see what they were doing but I figured they were fine. A few minutes later I look out and Taeya is sitting on the top steps and Brielle has a lock of Taeya's hair and chops it off with the scissors. I ran outside in shock! They had not only cut Taeya's hair, but also Alyson's poor doll that we had borrowed earlier that day, hair was scattered all over the grass.

I still don't know the whole story but this is what I think happend, I had been commenting on how long Taeya's pigtails were getting and I think in her mind that meant she needed to cut her hair. I am pretty sure that Taeya told Brielle to cut it. She cut quite a few chunks - all out of the back thankfully. One section by her ear is only about an inch long, but otherwise they are just sparatic chunks throughout the back.

I took her to the salon that night to see what I could do to salvage it. The back is pretty short, but she keeps getting compliments so it must not be too bad. She looks cute with short hair, and of course it's only hair and it will grow. Just don't look to close and it looks great!

This is the picture I took of her hair at the salon right before I cut it - sadly I was using my old camera and it really doesn't take very good pictures. You can't even tell, but at least you can see the length.

The after picture I took didn't work out either, so this is a picture that I took the next day. The bad thing is that I now either have to round brush her hair or curl it - no more piggies for a while! And hopefully no more cutting - EVER. All the scissors are now out of reach!

New Bling

I always thought that when I had a baby girl I would pierce her ears right away, than I had Taeya and for some reason I just couldn't do it. I told myself I would wait until she wanted to get it done. I think I might have put the idea in her head, but she said she wanted to get it done so I was excited. I knew that I wanted my mom to come with us because she has such a good eye and they would end up even. On Saturday, March 20th, after Jump On It, and before Pirate Island we went to the mall and got it done. I could tell Taeya was a little nervous but she put on a brave face. Two employees were going to do both ears at the same time but one of the "guns" didn't work so they had to do it twice, the second time she got a little sad.

The Audience - cute Kierra thought she was going to get her ears pierced too, but her dad said she needed to wait.

Nana making sure they get the dots in the right part.

Trying to be brave.

During the second ear - she was a little sad!

All done and needing some loves - we forgot to take an "after" shot.

Even though it hurt a little bit, I know she loves them. She says to everyone "hey, I got my ears pierced!"

Raggedy Ann Birthday Party

Back in October I posted some fun photos of a little photo-shoot Taeya was able to participate in. The photo shoot was for a lady who does party planning for kids birthday parties. I just found her website and she has been posting about the Raggedy Ann party so there are lots of cute pictures of Taeya. She has some great ideas for parties.

Whitmer's Visit

The Whitmer family came for a visit a few weeks ago. We had such a fun time with them. Chantel and the kids were able to come and visit while they were here also so that made it extra fun. We did alot of fun things while they were here, we went to Jump on It, Pirate Island, the mall several times - the kids played at the treehouse, dinner at Kelly's one night, lots of sleepovers, ran errand with Kimberly, breakfast at Kneaders, swimming at the Lehi pool, a birthday party for Kierra, and lots and lots of hanging out at moms - so much so that I think she is tired of us! Kierra and Taeya got along so well, for the most part. Those 2 are a lot alike. They both love to dress up and change clothes, you just never knew what they would be wearing from hour to hour!
I didn't get pictures of everything, but here are a few that I did get from Kimberly.

Mariel, Me, Kelly, Kimberly, and Chantel at the dinner we ate at Kelly's house - so yummy!

Kenzly dressing up.

Karsten being his cute self.

Dad reading stories to Taeya and Laeklan. Laeklan is Gordon's sister, Cheryl's, daughter. Cheryl ran the 1/2 marathon in Moab and Laeklan stayed with us for the weekend. The girls had so much fun. I think Laeklan didn't want to go home!

We were sad to see the Whitmer's go. We sure do miss them and wish they lived closer. Thanks for the fun week and a half!
