Random Summer

We had a great summer. It went way to fast as always! Here are a few random pictures of Anastyn.

Hoping for rain.
Anastyn has great dives - we were trying to capture one and we got this shot!
Much better!
The girls both love sleepovers with Jayne. Kelly took the girls for a night and day while I was at girls camp.

They played really hard!

1st day of Preschool

Anastyn started Preschool again at All American Gymnastics - "Gynastic School" as Anastyn calls it.  Anastyn really likes school but she Loves Gymnastics.  Miss Heidi is her teacher again and she is awesome.  She goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to noon.  I go to work while Anastyn is at school and it works out great!

My little poser.  She insisted on wearing these shoes of Alayna's they were a little small and she never wore them again!
Miss Heidi - Anastyn decided to be a little shy when she saw her.
At school the kids get to take turns being the star student and taking Gym Bear home for the week.  Since Anastyn starts with an "A" she got to go first.  School started on Tuesday and Wednesday we ended up at the doctors office with Strep Throat for Taeya and Anastyn.  Gym Bear came along and got a check-up too!

Heber Valley Camp

With my parents serving a mission at the Heber Valley Camp we have the opportunity to go and stay in one of the camps two different times. We went in June when the Whitmers were in town. So for the second trip we were able to have Ryan and Kristy and their family and the Huntsmans (minus Casey). We had such a fun time. This time we were able to go on the ropes course. Taeya climped up the pole and then decided she was terrified up there. It took a lot of coaxing to get her down but once down she realized she loved it! We got to go do a second ropes course also.  We had to cut that one short though because of Lightening and rain!  Unfortunately they had already started draining the lake so we weren't able to have any lake time.

After the ropes course we made tin foil dinners and played games, they ate smores.  Sunday morning we had a yummy waffles breakfast.  Church was held under one of the large pavilions which was a fun experience but the best things was that Ryan was able to bless Kian during the meeting. Afterwards we had a yummy lunch. Then we packed up/cleaned up and headed home.

Gardens

After we got Taeya off to school on the first day we decided to take advantage of the $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point. Alyson, Mindi, and I took the girls. It was busier than we thought it would be for the first day of school but the girls still loved it and the weather was nice and sunny - perfect for some water fun. When Taeya got home from school she was a little upset we didn't take her!

1st day of 2nd Grade

Taeya was super excited for 2nd Grade. She was mostly excited to see who was in her class and to be re-united with all her friends!  We did a little school shopping this summer.  Taeya just couldn't wait to wear her new shoes!  She has Mrs. Molinaro and can't wait!

I had to get the shoes in the pictures!  She wears these orange bands on her ankles non-stop.  One of them she got at Lake Powell - given to her by a ranger for wearing her life jacket.  The other orange band she got at the Xango cowboy party.
Taeya loves Cheetah's so we found her this backpack - so perfect.
Cedar Ridge Elementary - we switched to the first track this year.  School starts at 8:00am and gets out at 2:15.  Taeya is not a morning person so we might have a hard time.  Not today though!  She jumped right out of bed.

Jump On It

For the last day of summer vacation I took the girls to Jump-on-it. It was a perfect day to go. It wasn't busy and it was cheap cause I couldn't jump and Anastyn was still free! The girls had a blast! I'm just sad I don't have better pictures to show for it!

Birthday Slide

For Brandt's first birthday Garrick and Kelly rented a huge blow-up water slide and had a fun party! The girls (and Gordon) loved the slide. I enjoyed visiting and watching! Happy Birthday Brandt. Thanks for the fun party!

Asilia convinced the girls to slide down with her!
Chantel and Chelsea drove down with the little boys to bring Cynthia's things to her apartment in Provo.  Because of that they were able to come and party with us!

14th Anniversary

With a baby on the way Gordon and I thought we should probably take the opportunity to be kid-less for the night. Kelly was so great to keep the girls for us. We left Sunday afternoon and headed up to Salt Lake. We just walked around temple square and watched some of the movie at the visitors center. We had dinner at Macaroni Grill. We slept in and then went up to Park City for some shopping. Gordon was a great sport and let me shop as long as I wanted. We spent some time at the outlets and at World Market. Then we watched all of the activity at the Park City resort. Since I was pregnant I wasn't able to participate in the activities but we enjoyed watching. Next we walked around Downtown Park City, and mostly window shopped. We grabbed some Café Rio and drove to Sundance. We ate our dinner in the rain then went to the play "Annie Get Your Gun." The play was super fun. We had some great seats and the atmosphere was awesome. We were worried that we were going to get rained on again but thankfully it stayed dry during the play. Kelly kept the girls until Tuesday morning cause we got home so late. What a great week-end!

Happy 14th Anniversary!

Girls Camp

This year girls camp was on the ward level so we decided to do something really different. We went to a cabin in Smoot, Wyoming and it was fabulous! For whatever reason we had a large budget so we were able to do some really fun things. The drive took about 4 hours but the cabin was amazing and super comfortable. We had the theme of "Girl On Fire." We did a lot of fun things with that. Seth came and helped the girls do some archery. We had a "Hunger Games" we went on a fun, short hike, we went into Jackson Hole and went down the Snake River, we did some shopping in downtown Jackson Hole, and we went and did the Alpine Slide in Jackson as well. Of course the food was fabulous, and the company was even better. We have an awesome ward and I love being involved with the Beehives. We have the best group of girls!
This is the view of the property.  We stayed in the cabin you see on the right side.  The lake was a little chilly but many of the girls still swam and loved it.  The slip n slide was fun but it was a little overcast.  So not quite as warm as we would've like it!

Birthday Party

The week-end after we got home from California we threw together a fun birthday party for Taeya. We thought a water party would be perfect. It turned out great. We rented a blow-up slide and used our water slide as well. We had some snacks for the kids, played a few games, had cake and ice cream and a piniata and the party was complete!  It was a great party!

These are the cute friends Taeya made in 1st grade - Ella, Sabrina, Taeya, Ruby, and Jaynee
Such cute girls.
The great thing about an outdoor water party was that we were able to invite everyone!  I think we might've had about 20 kids (yikes)! Emma Latham, Alayna, Kira, Annie and Bre Latham
We played a few games with shaving cream.  Taeya, Kira, and Ruby playing in the cream.
The kids all lined up for our water relay games.
Taeya getting the shaving cream sprayed off her face.
The inflatable we rented - it wasn't quite as big as we were hoping but the kids still had fun.
I have been a little lazy in my cake making recently.  This cake came from Costco.  We added the Barbie to make it look a little more custom!
Blowing out the candles.
All of the party guests.
Opening presents was a little crazy!  She got some great gifts, one of her favorite was a set of Monster High dolls.  Definitely a favorite of Taeya's right now.
