Babysitting in Idaho

My sister Chantel and her husband went to Hawaii for the week, so I got the enjoy their beautiful new home, and their 6 kids! We had a fun week, with no major problems. (I babysat for them last year and everyone got the flu and I flooded the laundry room!) I didn't take very many pictures, but I did get a few cute ones of the little kids. Taeya really enjoyed playing with her cousins. The 3 youngest are all boys, so they weren't too familiar with princesses. Cameron (the 6 year old), kept asking me "why does Taeya always want to be a princess." He finally gave her some star wars princess name which seemed to make them both happy. Poor little Cael (the youngest, he is almost 2), got a little beat up. Taeya went back to her scratching and biting phase that I thought we were out of. Thank goodness he is a sweet little boy who recovered quickly!

The "big" kids had a few friends over and Taeya, Cameron, and Cael found their shoes and thought they were pretty cool wearing them.

Cael was obsessed with toothpaste and thought he would see what it was like as war paint.

Cute little Cael again, always looking for a good pair of shoes.

Cael and Taeya playing in the boys room. I had just changed 2 poopy diapers and didn't think it was worth the fight to get them dressed again!

Saturday night we took the younger kids to Leo's which is a Chuck E Cheese type place. This is Taeya driving the tractor (all the other pictures I got from the night were blurry). The kids had a fun time.

"BeenaBeena"

I got this outfil for Taeya in the Philippines and I just couldn't resist posting it! She looked so cute. She called her skirt her "beenabeena" (ballerina). Taeya is giving me her say "cheese" smile!

Little Gym

Last semester (August thrugh December), Taeya was enrolled at Little Gym. For the most part she really enjoyed it. She got really posessive of the equipment some days, and one day she even bit one of the girls in our class, but it was a great place to "explore," and release some energy. Our friends Heather and Cohen came with us and that made it extra fun. Sadly, I think the kids enjoyed going to Jamba Juice afterwards just as much as they did the Gym!

At the end of class they always blew a lot of little bubbles. She loved having them blown on her tummy and trying to catch them.

Taeya and Cohen playing with the balls

Taeya doing the "bear claw."

Cohen and Taeya were cute little monkeys!

The beam was one of her favorites. She got really good at walking across by herself.

R & R

One of the greatest things about Gordon's job is his yearly R & R. He always gets the week between Christmas and New Years off. This year with the day of the week the holiday's were on, he had a half day on Christmas Eve, and he didn't have to go back until January 5th! We loved it and did a lot of fun things. Here are some of our events during the week:

-We tried to go to the movie Chihuahua (we lasted about 20 minutes).

-Went to Los Hermanos for dinner twice (one of our favorites).

-Went to the Kennard Family Reunion (Gordon was elected as the 2nd vice presidents so it looks like we will be going to the reunions for the next 3 years since he will help plan it)!

-I worked one day (not so fun).

-Went x-country skiing to try out the new stroller ski's.

Gordon and Taeya. I have the coolest stroller, it's called a "Chariot." A few of my girl friends recommended it to me when I had Taeya and we haven't been disappointed. It can be a jogger, a stroller, a bike trailer, x-country ski trailer, and it even has a hiking kit also. When I first bought it I thought I would never need the x-country ski kit, but look at us now! We discovered the way to keep Taeya in the stroller was to give her a bowl of snow that she could eat along the way! She loves eating snow.

-Went to the cabin in Weber Canyon and had a great time. We went sledding, build Taeya a snow fort "or princess castle" as she liked to call it, did a puzzle, rang in the new year, ate yummy food, went x-country skiing, made snow angels and watched Barbie "Swan Lake" a million times.
This is Taeya admiring the beautiful scenery. I think that girl would have played in the snow with nothing but her pajama top and boots on if I would have let her. Actually, she would have loved her boots and a princess dress too!

We had a lot of fun sledding. Taeya just sat in the sled with her arms dragging in the snow. When her gloves would get enough snow on them, she would eat the snow off, then do it all over again.

Gordon built Taeya a snow fort or a "princess castle" as she liked to call it. It had steps leading down to it and everything. She played in there with her barbies for a while. She didn't want to keep her gloves on and after a while I realized she was using Ken's hand (or "Eric as she calls her boy barbies because she loved Ariel) to scrape the side of the cave and get snow off, then she would eat the snow on his hand!!

This is Taeya trying to ski with Gordon.

Who can't resist making a snow angel in fresh snow?

-Went to the Melting Pot with Elaine (Gord's mom), to celebrate her birthday.

-Took Taeya to Sundance to go skiing for her 1st time.

We took Taeya to Sundance to let her get a little used to the idea of skiing. She loved her ski's, she kept saying they were "tiny, tiny." We had to park above the overflow parking at sundance. It was closer to walk onto the mountain, than it was to walk to the shuttle. We put on all are gear, and let Taeya kind of practice going down a little bit and she seemed to love it, but then we had to go all the way down the hill to get to the tow rope, and she didn't really love that. Gordon ended up carrying her down. By the time we got to the tow rope she was done. Gordon made her practice going down a few times anyway, then we gave her the promised sucker! It was fun to enjoy a beautiful day in the snow, and we will try again another day!

-Watched a lot of movies!

-Enjoyed having Gordon home!!

Now we are back to reality!!
